Pro Bono Unit

This organisation is an association that deals with those who are looking to engage barristers on what is termed pro-bono which basically is an agreement not to charge a fee if the case is lost, and to get their costs from the opposing party if they win. However, this still leaves the client open to a cost order against them from the opposing side if they lose.

Charlie Hopkins and John Dunkley only work for local communities, and do not take on cases on behalf of the developers. Whilst there are problems with contacting the Essex office the level of expertise in planning and development issues is superb. Charlie Hopkins has now become something of an expert in the area of football stadiums. Whilst John has undertaken several telecommunication installation cases. Charlie is currently holding a brief for a case for CfPS (Leigh Guided Busway).
