PLANNING SANITY TRAINING SEMINARS

Planning Sanity continuing its existing training programme for local communities affected by adverse developments are now able to organise a few more local (to you) day and weekend training seminars or a range of planning related topics, of particular interest to those communities faced with a public inquiry.

The trainning sessions range in price from £500 to £5000 depending on the numbers attending and the need to engage specialist to enhance the seminar. The cost includes all expenditure including the hiring of halls, lunch, materials and expenditure of the facilitators. Any profits from the events will be ploughed back into the work that Planning Sanity undertakes on behalf of communities and to support projects such as the Bardsey Appeal. Anyone paying for the seminar with Lottery funding will not be expected to pay more than the total Lottery Grant.

It may be possible for some communities to obtain funding from the national lottery who are keen to support such seminars and community training. Anyone wanting to apply for such funding would need to produce a constitution, account and other information. Planning Sanity in most cases will be able to help out by supplying draft constitutions, as well as copies of promotional material tailored to the agreed seminar, there would be no initial charge for the supply of these inportant documents.

Applications for Lottery funding can be made online at http://www.awardsforall.org.uk or telephone 0845 600 2040 for an application form. There are 9 local regional offices. Decisions should be within 8 weeks but you cannot book anything before you get your decision. You must supply a constitution/set of rules, annual accounts / statement of income and expenditure / recent original bank statement. Apparently the going rate for people talking about EMF and such like is at least £1,000 per day.
