Application to register land as a Village Green under section 15 (1).
........address of site.............
Witness Statement of
........name of person making statement....
I ...name... make the following statement in support of the application to register the land known as ............. address of site......... as a Village Green.
- I have used ....... name of site ...... as a Village Green for more than 20 years including the period set out in the application.
- I am an inhabitant of the locality, and have been in excess of the statutory period.
- I walk my dog on a daily basis on --------- name of land ........
- I am a regular spectator at sporting events held on the Playing Field and have in the past times taken part in sporting activities.
- My family when they were younger all used the Playing fields for informal and formal sports, my grand children are now following in their foot steps and using the playing fields in the same way.
- To my express knowledge the ...... name of land ...... has been used as a ‘Green Open Space’ for at least 40 years and is one of the last green areas in .....name of town/village......., as such it is extensively used by a significant number of local residents on a regular and semi regular basis, for a range of sports and pastimes and other leisure activities, including the following activities.
- organised sport, football, cricket
- picnics
- rounders and other similar games
- family games
- kite flying
- Scout and Cub sporting and other outdoor activities
- Army and Air Force cadets on parade
- birthday parties
- playing tag and other similar activities
- toddlers learning to walk
- kicking a ball informally
- workers at lunch times getting fresh air, eating lunch and informal ball games
- charity 'Its's a Knockout' contests between local businesses
- walking
- wildlife watching
- general relaxation and exercise
- At no time have I or any member of my family, nor do I know of any other person that has been challenged, or prevented from using the land, nor have I been given permission to use the land, but do so in the believe that I have a right to use the land as a village green.
- For all of the above reasons I ask that the registration authority enter into the register of village greens the land set out in this application.
I believe that the contents of this statement are to the best of my knowledge and believe a true statement of the facts therein set out.
